Тема «Inflammatory Bowel Disease: An Emergency Radiology Perspective»
Dr. Prasa Gopee-Ramanan is Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at McMaster University and Staff Diagnostic Radiologist at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, Hamilton Health Sciences. Having completed his fellowship in Breast and Abdominal Radiology at UHN, he has interests in breast, body, neuroradiology and emergency radiology and medical education. As an educator, he is postgraduate site electives lead and undergraduate medical foundations curriculum for the integration foundation for McMaster University. As an administrator, he is multisite modality lead for CT and organizational executive lead for EPIC informatics. He is co-Founder and Chief Radiology Officer of QuickRad.ca, a website to highlight summaries of helpful radiology publications for day-to-day reporting. Outside of work, Prasa enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 boys, extended family and enjoying excellent podcasts and Indian classical music.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease: An Emergency Radiology Perspective
Summary:
This talk will review the role of modality-specific protocols in patients with suspected or known IBD in the emergency setting. We will highlight pearls and pitfalls in most common IBD complications in the emergency setting. Finally, we will review the role of the radiologist in providing management guidance for IBD patients in the emergent setting.
Learning Objective 1:
Use the correct modality and protocol exams for emergent IBD patients.
Learning Objective 2:
Identify highlights of the SAR lexicon for CT and MRI diagnosis and descriptions for IBD findings and major complications.
Learning Objective 3:
Recognize the importance of reporting and the key management impact radiologists have in assisting emergency physicians and specialists in further managing the patient following imaging.
